  Program


During this yoga retreat, you will get the opportunity to re-energize your life force and come home feeling nourished and aligned. You will appreciate our entire health program in such beautiful surroundings. Each day will involve yoga, meditation, and pranayama practice in the morning, a morning class integrating ancient and modern methods to yoga, and an evening stress management meditation to improve attentiveness towards oneself and excellent sleep. In addition, you will study and get sound healing therapy to heal negative energy, unbalanced chakras, sleeplessness, tension, sadness, anxiety, headaches, and other ailments.

The following is the program for your daily schedule:

1st day:

  • 12:00 Check-in. After arrival just soaks up the stunning views from our terraces with hot herbal tea or coffee.
  • 13:00 Lunch & time for a short hike, rest or walk around nature
  • 14:30 - 16:00 Massage therapy 1 hour, steam or sauna 30 minutes
  • 05:00 - 18:00 Yoga Nidra meditation
  • 18:30 Dinner delicious plant-based local organic buffet-style dinner.

2nd day:

  • 07:00 - 09:00 Energizing morning yoga and pranayama practice.
  • 09:30 Local Organic breakfast and free time to explore nearby areas or relax in the sun in the yoga garden
  • 11:00 - 12:30 Sound healing therapy for physical and mental relaxation.
  • 13:00 Delicious lunch to nourish you after your healing session.
  • 15:00 - 16:30 Introduction to balance lifestyle and meditation for stress management
  • 18:30 Dinner: fully vegetarian, local, and mostly organic.

3rd day

  • 07:00 - 09:00 Chanting, meditating, and yoga practice
  • 09:30 Breakfast before you head on your next adventure

Kriti Karki

Kriti Karki is the school's owner and lead yoga instructor. Kriti comes from a yogic family and has been doing yoga since she was a children. She recovered from asthma via yoga practice and now has no asthma. Kriti has a 6-month diploma in yoga, a 3-year BA in yoga and naturopathy, a 2-year MA degree in yogic science from India University, and has finished her USA Yoga Alliance internation courses. She has been teaching yoga for almost 18 years. Note: Kriti will not be teaching yoga for a few months, however the school has a highly experienced professional teacher team.

Manhal Tousis

Swami Manhal Tousis is not only a Reiki master, but he is also an experienced yoga instructor who has conducted many YTT courses. Among many others, he is a certified mantra, Nada yoga, and singing bowls healer, a numerology and crystal healer. He is trained and certified by a number of institutions and schools in India, China, and Nepal to conduct training in several other wellness healing techniques. Swami Manhal is a multi-style master and a great teacher to have, he is also an expert in tarot reading as well he loves to share his knowledge and experience with you.

Shanta Shakya

Swami Yog Abhinav (Shanta Shakya) is a rebellious and independent child of his family who questions about all social, religious, and philosophical beliefs. As he grew up he started reading and listening to Osho and was inspired by him. His quest for knowledge about one-self in solving problems pushed him to experiment with different meditation techniques. He met Osho in Kathmandu in 1986 and received initiation from Osho, becoming neo-sannyasin at the age of 19. He's always eager to learn. In 2009 he completed Reiki Master's level. Today he is the best healer and spiritual yogi in Nepal.

Vishnu Joshi

Yoga Guru Vishnu was born at Dev Bhumi Uttarakhand and he completed his study and learned yoga from Rishikesh (world capital of Yoga). He had a deep-rooted passion for Indian Vedic Philosophies, Occult Sciences and more particularly in the disciplines of yoga and Naturopathy from his childhood days. He has studied and trained with Yogiraj Dr Vishvapal Jayant Ji at Vedic Gurukul MahavidhyalayaKanvashram, Kotdwar and reached of full understanding of Yoga Science of Body and Mind.

You will stay in a Nepali traditional yoga school, which has excellent eco-friendly accommodations set among acres of blossoming gardens, a tranquil environment, hiking trails, mountains, forests, hills, and just breathtaking views from the rooftop.

This retreat location is located in the best part of Kathmandu, up to the hills from which you can see Nepal's capital city (Kathmandu valley) from a height of 2000 meters.

"Immersion au sein du yoga "
Une formation, une expérience hors du commun. L'enseignement du yoga pratique, la philosophie du yoga, permet d'acquérir des connaissances solides. Que ce soit pour débuter ou pour continuer son chemin dans le yoga. Les enseignants sont professionnels à l'écoute, bienveillant, s'adapte à chaque pratiquant. L'ambiance vous dépayse, de quoi vous consacrer totalement à ce que vous faites. Une formation qui vous portera quelque soit votre motivation. Laissez vous porter. "Wonderful "
The teachers (Vishnu and yogesh ) have been amazing, kind, helpful, gave us so much insight and knowledge, they’re beautiful souls, funny, gentle, professional and passionate. They taught us a lot, as much in practical and theory classes. Kriti and Byen are also incredible, they run the place with so much kindness, lightness, and always smiling. They’re both super social, kind, and so funny, you can always have talks and good vibes with them and they’ll always try to help you ! The food was also amazing, they hired the best cook (a young chef, Ajé, always smiling) who makes Nepali/healthy food, it’s delicious ! I would recommand this place 100000%, you could never get any better.

"Home Away from Home"
I truly enjoyed every aspect of the experience from the location that lends itself to breathtaking views from your porch rooftop terrace to the sense of family that is created by the owners, staff, and teachers. I stayed in a private room and it was spacious and clean. There’s a little coffee tale outside each room with a comfy chair that allows for relaxing to E with a book/journal and coffee. The yoga studio is incredible and even comes with air conditioner for muggy days. There’s a Bluetooth speaker there and at night you can chill in there and have a dance party if you wanted…as long as you are mindful of noise and keep it down after 10pm. The teachers are full of knowledge, love, patients, and personal experiences that bring a layer of authenticity to their teachings. I was terribly sick for 3 days there and I didn’t say anything the first day and it was terrible because I felt like I was going through it all alone, but the moment Kriti and Biren found out they were rushing over to me giving me comfort, medicines and healing foods. It felt like they were mom and dad coming to my aid and nursing me back to health. That brought my spirits up and I wasn’t so sad haha! The staff is constantly cleaning and being you fresh towels and clean sheets. My experience was better than anything I could have ever imagined. I’m so grateful for this space and everyone who makes it possible.

This isn’t something I necessarily didn’t like, but something to be aware of…if you plan to take a taxi from town back up to the school Google maps WILL get you lost, so just make sure the taxi driver is arranged before hand and is a local from near the school or is a taxi driver who is familiar with the schools location.

"A truly authentic, transformational yogic experience"
From start to finish, everything was above and beyond my expectations: the atmosphere in the beautiful mountains, clean and spacious facilities, friendly staff (more like your second family by the time you’re done), supportive batch mates from all around the world, and just all around positive vibes. And oh my goodness the FOOD. Probably the main highlight of my stay. I was worried that it was just going to be a lot of dal, but every day we had something new, varied, healthy, and SO flavourful. Everyone always went back for seconds (sometimes thirds!). Regardless of which training you sign up for, it will challenge you physically and mentally. Having done yoga for a few years on and off I thought it was going to be “easy,” and man I got my butt kicked. The instructors Yogesh and Vishnu are truly the best of the best - physically, they will guide you past your limits; mentally, enlighten you through teachings of yoga philosophy, history, and their own experiences; spiritually, make you reflect on the role yoga plays in your life as well as your role on this earth. Through class discussions, self-study time, and especially the silent meditation day, I’ve learnt more about myself in these three weeks than I have in the last year living at home on autopilot. I can’t express how glad I am that I chose Mandala for my first YTT, how grateful I am to the whole team for this experience, & how much I miss everyone already. Mandala, I'll be coming back soon!

Coming from a high-caloric, animal meat diet back home, I struggled with the adjustment to vegetarianism. I anticipated this so brought (and quickly finished) my own snacks, but it would’ve been perfect if Mandala provided some snacks (fruits, nuts, etc.) throughout the day as well
