About the program

You will have the opportunity to consult with the in-house Ayurvedic doctor and yoga therapist along with facilitators to gain a full spectrum picture of your health and well-being at the start of the program.

From there, a specialized care plan is created to support your personal needs including a plant-based / detox meal plan, physical practices, Ayurvedic massages and treatments, practical and informational sessions, and of course the daily yoga sessions.

Sessions will be a combination of one-to-one as well as group sessions, at times with different retreat guests.

Sample daily schedule

  • 10:30 Massage or therapies / consultations and info sessions

Jayesh

Jayesh holds a master's degree in yoga and is a qualified instructor of both Hatha and Ashtanga traditions. For the past five years, he has traveled to various parts of the world to share his passion for teaching yoga and spirituality with a vast number of people from different walks of life. Jayesh works at various yoga centers around India where he teaches Hatha yoga, asanas, pranayama, Nidra yoga, kriyas, meditation, and different stress management and relaxation techniques. He also specializes in diabetic therapy and professional yoga.

Saji Ramaswami

Saji Ramaswami is a professional yoga trainer and a spiritual teacher with special experience in the classic style of yoga, meditation, and philosophy of yoga Vedanta. He has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years in various ashrams and yoga schools in India. He's worked as a yoga master with Hinterland since 2015 leading yoga retreats and teacher training workshops. His special techniques combined with his gentle, peaceful, and kind manners help beginners as well as skilled yoga practitioners. Many yoga and spiritual aspirants have benefited from his inspiring talks and teachings.

Gokul

Gokul is a teacher of Hatha yoga (Yogasiromani) and was awarded by The International Sivananda Yoga Vedananta Centre, BSS Diploma in Yoga and Nature cure issued by Bharat Sevak Samaj (India). As a well-experienced yoga teacher, he holds an in-depth understanding of teaching asana classes with mindful integration, meditation, breathing techniques, yogic lifestyle, and mantra meditation. His core subjects are Hatha yoga and adjustment alignment.

"Truly relaxing stay "
Everything was amazing. The food was beyond incredibly, such nutritionally dense food. The yoga was great and I could see my flexibility improving throughout. The massages were truly therapeutic. A great time was had and wonderful people met.

"Heaven on Earth"
The ease and peace. Our time at Hinterland was incredible - the classes, and learning, the Ayurveda considerations, massages and the healing food. What Unni and his team create is very special, a unique environment to experience all that is life.

"Fabulous yoga centre "
Twice daily yoga sessions were suitable for all levels - I am an absolute beginner, my wife has more experience. Great for both of us. Massages were sublime. Food varied and beautifully presented. All the staff are wonderful, caring and kind.

We stayed for 3 nights, I wish I had stayed for 5 or 6 nights - 3 nights is to short.

"Séjour relaxant et ressourçant "
J’ai passé 10j formidables à hinterland, uni est une personne d’une bienveillance inouïe, aux petits soins et très disponible. Toute l’équipe est également merveilleuse, souriants et toujours soucieux de notre bien-être ! La nourriture est excellente et tres variée. Le lieu est très paisible, beaucoup de végétation, calme et on peut y voir de nombreux petits animaux (écureuils, oiseaux, papillons, oies, dindons, etc). Les journées sont bien rythmées au fil des séances de yoga, cours de philo, méditation, massages et autres activités proposées. Une véritable bulle intemporelle !
