Program
Ayurveda is concerned with eight principal branches of medicine: pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, geriatrics, otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat), general medicine, and surgery. Each of these medical specialties is addressed according to theories of the five elements (Ether, Air, Fire, Water, Earth): the tridosha, or three bodily humors: the seven dhatus, or body tissues; three maias (urine, stools, sweat): and the trinity of life: body, mind and spiritual awareness.
The cozy, airy and natural well-designed facilities with picturesque lake views will make your stay and overall wellness experience a beautiful, nourishing, and memorable one.
Panchakarma involves five sets of Ayurveda treatment procedures
Step 1 – Vamana (Emesis treatment) Vamana is a medicated emesis therapy that removes Kapha toxins collected in the body and the respiratory tract. This is given to people with high Kapha imbalance. Daily treatment involves loosening and mobilizing the toxins in an effort to finally eliminate them. Vamana treatment may take from 3 to 7 days.
Step 2 – Virechana (purgative treatment) Virechana is medicated purgation therapy that removes Pitta toxins from the body that are accumulated in the liver and gallbladder. It completely cleanses the gastrointestinal tract. It is a safe procedure without side effects. Virechana treatment may take from 3 to 7 days.
Step 3 / 4 – Basti (Enema): Basti is considered the mother of all Panchakarma treatments. It cleanses the accumulated toxins from all the 3 doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha, through the colon. Basti is also highly beneficial as a rejuvenating treatment.
Step 5 – Nasya: Nasya treatment involves the administration of medicated oil or powder through the nose to cleanse accumulated Kapha toxins from the head and neck region. Based on the medical condition of a person, it can be given up to 30 days. It is usually prescribed for diseases of ear, nose, throat, headache, etc.
Principles of oleation and fermentation are applied through Ayurveda therapies
Abhyanga: This is an individually prepared herbal-oil massage designed to deeply penetrate the skin, relax the mind-body, break up impurities, and stimulate both arterial and lymphatic circulation.
Shirodhara: It is administered by gently and methodically pouring warm herbalized oil over the forehead, synchronizing brain waves and profoundly coordinating and calming the mind, body, and spirit.
Garshana: It consists of dry skin brushing with either wool or a silk glove. This enhances circulation and cleans the skin so that subsequent oil and herbal treatments can penetrate deeply into freshly cleansed pores of the skin.
Swedana: This is an individually herbalized steam bath, during which the head and the heart are kept cool while the body is heated to remove mental, emotional, and physical toxins lodged deeply within the tissues.
Pizichil: This is a continuous stream of warm herbalized oil soothingly poured over the body by two Ayurvedic therapists as they massage the body in perfect unison. The warmth of the oil and synchronicity of the massage combine for a deep tissue cleansing.
Udvartana: This is a deeply penetrating herbal paste lymphatic massage. This powerful exfoliating treatment magically Restore Your Natural Radiance conditions the skin while pressing stagnant lymphatic toxins out of the body.
Potli Massage: This massage is done with special bags which contain either medicinal herbs or other nutritious items. The bags are heated in warm oil for a few minutes and then are used for massaging the body. It is a great massage to relieve pain, reduce physical and mental stress.
Pinda Swedana: This is a deep cleansing treatment where rice boiled in milk and herbs is massaged deeply into the tissues and joints.
