Shannon Red

Shannon began her yoga journey in 2003. Her love for Bikram yoga accelerated her undeniable calling to become an instructor. She completed her 500-hour training at BYCI Headquarters in 2004 to eventually begin the process of pursuing her wildest dream of opening the first yoga studio in her most cherished community of The Dalles, Oregon. She later went on to open a second studio in Hood River. Today she has a variety of certifications in many different styles, has started a non-profit kids yoga program in schools & also enjoys teaching at Google, the local jail, schools & both of her studios.

Amie DiGennaro

Amie's interest in yoga began in 2006 while investigating methods to control severe back pain. Although she didn't instantly love hot yoga, Amie did love the pain relief that a consistent hot yoga practice awarded her. The physical benefits of yoga were obvious to Amie but what unfolded was a deeper practice of self observation and connectivity. In the summer of 2010, Amie completed a 200 hour teacher training at CorePower Yoga in Portland, OR, and has been teaching classes at Pure Yoga ever since.

Samantha Whitley

Sam has been practicing yoga on the mat near and far since 2001. In 2015, an Ashtanga class got her attention which ultimately led Sam to complete her 200 and 500 hours of teacher training in Ashtanga vinyasa and the 8 limbs of yoga. You will likely find Sam next to you taking a yoga class and her favorite posture is laghu vajrasana (little thunderbolt in Sanskrit). Sam is also trained and certified in Yoga Nidra.

"One of My Most Valuable Life Experiences"
From the professionalism and quick response from my initial inquiry to making sure I was at the airport at a reasonable time before my departure home, I was thoroughly impressed. Shannon is not only a fantastic human being that deeply cares for the people around her, she is an expert in yoga, business, and people. She values what she has to offer and makes sure you get the most out of your money. The instructors that help her are all fantastic and bring something valuable to every lesson they teach. This is not a yoga retreat where one goes to merely lounge around but a place where one is taught to become a yoga instructor that is ready to teach classes at the end of a two week period. After getting home I was able to start teaching almost immediately and will continue to do so for life. Shannon's family is amazing, everyone we meet at the studios are as well and you can tell that they all have deep respect for what Shannon and her colleagues are doing for peoples' lives. This is absolutely the best value anyone could hope to get for their money and time and will be an experience that will be with you for the rest of your life. Highly recommend.

I couldn't stand how fast the time flew by.

"Pure perfection "
The experience here taught me so much more than being a yoga instructor. If you come here willing to show up authentically and put in the work, you’ll leave here with an open heart, ready to share your gift with your community.

"Do yourself a favor and just sign-up"
If you're even considering becoming a yoga teacher and come across this opportunity, don't overthink it and just sign-up! The 16 days are intense, both emotionally and physically, and the instruction was well grounded in various aspects of yoga theory to complement the practice of learning, doing, and teaching poses. I feel much more confident about teaching yoga with a foundation in the history, philosophy, and central tenets of yoga. I also felt well supported by both Shannon and Amie ... before, during, and now after the training. Such a powerful and positive experience ... and I highly recommend it for anyone else looking to become a certified yoga teacher.

Nothing was negative ... the location, accommodations, food, and schedule were all conducive to a positive experience.

"Great training, prepared me for teaching, highly recommend i"
The 200 hour YTT with Shannon and Amie at Pure Yoga was amazing. It was fun, professional, well structured, personal and they did such a great job preparing us for teaching. I feel confident to start teaching outside of training and would definitely recommend training with Pure Yoga!

The drive to town to get groceries is about 30 min.
