Program details

In this 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training in Bali, Anandam Yoga School will give you the chance to explore new areas of yoga and to include the new insights into your own teachings. In the field of asana, the main focus is on Ashtanga Vinyasa and arm balancing postures.

In the yoga philosophy lectures, you dive deeper into Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita. After completing the training, Anandam Yoga School wants you to feel like you have grown on your journey as a teacher as well as a student.

To ensure the quality of the course and to help you track your progress we will have weekly quizzes, one final written exam and a practical exam in which you are going to teach an Ashtanga Vinyasa or arm balancing class.

Yogic Sukshma Vyayama

Sukshma Vyayama is an ancient practice introduced by Sri Dhirendra Bhramchari. It is a technique of yogic postures and dynamic movements to activate the subtle pranic body and rejuvenate your joints.

Many yoga teachers focus on asana poster practices but don’t practice these small exercises which are crucial in the development of strength and flexibility in your physical body and to develop your consciousness. You will be learning the complete sequence of 48 yogic exercises to develop the consciousness in each and every cell of your body.

Patanjali Yoga Sutras

The literal meaning of the word “sutra” is “thread” and these sutras are just combinations of words threaded together. Within the space of these 196 short sutras the entire science of Yoga is clearly presented: its aim, the necessary practices, the obstacles you may encounter along your path, their removal and the results that will be obtained from these practices.

The Samadhi Pada, Sadhana Pada, Vibhuti Pada, and Kaivalya Pada - You cover the four chapters of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras in this course offering you a greater understanding of his teachings and highlight the importance these teachings have today in our daily life.

Bhagavad Gita

"The song of god" is a conversation between the warrior Arjuna and his guide Lord Krishna. Arjuna finds himself in a moral dilemma and seeks help from Krishna.

In these classes you will discuss the 18 chapters and their meaning in detail. Anandam Yoga School gives you more information about the three secrets of the Bhagavad Gita and you will realize that this scripture and its teachings are now as relevant as it was when it was written.

Anandam Yoga School will teach you how to use this knowledge in your everyday life, especially in particularly hard or over exciting times to keep the equanimity of your mind, no matter the external circumstances.

Hatha Yoga Scriptures

“Yoga succeeds by these six: enthusiasm, openness, courage, knowledge of the truth, determination, and solitude.” – Swami Svatmarama, Hatha Yoga Pradipika

In Western culture, Haṭha yoga is typically understood as asanas. In the Indian traditions, Haṭha yoga is much more. It extends beyond being a sophisticated physical exercise system and integrates ideas of ethics, diet, cleansing, pranayama, meditation, and a system for spiritual development of the yogi.

You are going to discuss the Hatha yoga scriptures that build the foundation of all the different yoga styles you practice today, with a main focus on the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Gheranda Samitha.

The Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Gheranda Samhita are the most detailed manuals describing the techniques of Hatha yoga. You are going to explore the 4 limbs of Hatha yoga described by Swami Svatmarama in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Saptanga Yoga in Maharshi Gheranda’s Gheranda Samitha.

"Exceptional Yoga Teacher Training Experience"
In short, for those eager to delve deeper into their Yoga practice, particularly with some mixture of traditional Indian style, this training is a golden opportunity that shouldn't be missed. I will personally attend more training sessions with Sandeep and Katherina in near future! Training: The guidance of Katherina and Sandeep transformed the Yoga teacher training into an insightful journey. Their keen eye for individualized attention made sure that every participant was both challenged and nurtured. Sandeep's sessions on Hatha Yoga, especially, stood out for being the right balance of demanding and engaging, pushing us to new depths in our practice. Food: Our daily routines were punctuated with delicious meals that were both flavorful and nutritious. Every bite seemed to be crafted with love and intention, serving as the perfect fuel for our intense training days. Place: Nestled in the serene landscape of Heimbach, the setting of our training couldn’t have been more ideal. The tranquil environment not only amplified our learning experience but also provided the perfect backdrop for introspection and growth. Fire Ceremony: A pivotal moment for many of us was the ethereal fire ceremony. It wasn't just a ritual; it was an experience of profound connection and transformation. This ceremony encapsulated the essence of our collective journey, making it a memory to cherish. Thanks to both Sandeep and Kathrina!

"Highly recommended! "
The classes were rigorously structured, combining traditional and modern understandings of yoga and not just focusing on the asanas. This enabled a deeper understanding of practice and aided in our own personal journey and growth throughout the three weeks. Our teachers were of the highest standard I have experienced, they really knew their stuff! They allowed time for open and honest conversations. Emotionally they were very supportive, always in contact whenever we needed them. Always with a smile on their faces and getting to understand us as individuals. All the classes were accessible for all levels, I would highly recommended this yoga school to everyone wishing to broaden their understanding of Yoga in its entirety. Thankyou to the teachers who gave their time!!

I would recommend having extra mosquito protection in the rooms

"Traditional yoga. "
The foundations of yoga (the asanas, the anatomy classes, the yogic philosophy) were amazing! I really liked how it was designed: the program itself, the teaching methodology, creating an own class (hatha, hatha flow or vinyasa flow), the manual is very detailed and illustrated. The vegan breakfasts were super delicious!! It was an unique and inspirational experience. Thank you very much for teaching and sharing!!

The serenity house can be noisy sometimes (noises from the street, depend on the room). Be aware of that. otherwise it is super tropical, friendly and comfortable.
